The No. 1 statewide political radio talk-show host focused on Florida politics, Ed Dean,  a senior editor with Sunshine State News, will be appearing on CNN Headline News at 8 pm EST on Wednesday to talk about a mother who attempted to drive her kids into the ocean.

Dean hosts a morning talk show on WBOB 600 AM and 100.3 FM in Jacksonville where his show runs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. He also hosts a show focusing on Florida politics, aired across the state, and his work with Sunshine State News.

“Ed Dean is a dynamic, conservative voice who offers great insights on state and national politics," said Kevin Derby of Sunshine State News, a frequent guest on Dean’s radio show. “I’m glad people across the nation will join the tens of thousands of radio listeners across Florida in being able to partake of Ed’s take on politics and the issues.”

As the top-rated radio show host focusing on Florida, Dean is no stranger to politics and news in the  Sunshine State. His show is featured Monday through Friday around the state. Dean was a regular financial and political commentator on Newsmax TV, has been on Fox Business Network and is a contributor to Fox News 35 in Orlando. In addition, he is a senior media analyst for the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, a Washington, D.C., taxpayers advocacy group. Dean’s work has appeared in the Space Coast Daily and Sunshine State News. Before that, he covered politics for Straight Talk, the Brevard Reporter and WMEL Radio, where he won awards for his coverage of the 2004 hurricane season.

Politics is in Dean’s blood. With his uncle John Buckley, a former Reagan consultant, Dean helped run BTV, a media and polling firm. Back in 2010, Dean was the featured MC for the Spending Revolt bus tour of Florida launched by Americans for Prosperity (AFP). Dean has also worked as a media consultant to politicians, campaigns and business groups at the state and national levels and sits on the media advisory board for the American Media Institute. Dean is the owner of Florida Radio Network.

Dean's shows can be heard in Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Daytona Beach, Orlando, the Space Coast, the Treasure Coast and South Florida from West Palm Beach to Miami. It can also be heard in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Dean leads Sunshine State News’ “Florida Minute,” a news update which is broadcast on several radio stations across the state on a daily basis. The “Florida Minute" from Sunshine State News can be heard in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Ocala, Gainesville, Tampa, all of the Space Coast, all of the Treasure Coast and will soon be expanding to Southwest Florida.

Ed who?

Epic fail. He was admonished by the host for making jokes about the case

Guess I won't be watching.

Ed,...Would you check to see if Minka Brehzinski is really the vacuous airhead that she appears to be?

I'm sure he'll do a great job. Too bad my TV does not tune in to CNN - EVER.
