Now running for a second term in the U.S. House, U.S. Rep. Neal Dunn, R-Fla., was endorsed by President Donald Trump this week.

Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday to endorse Dunn.

“Congressman Neal Dunn (@DunnCampaign) of Florida has done an outstanding job at everything having to do with #MAGA,” Trump posted on Twitter. “Now working hard on hurricane relief and rebuild. Strong on Crime, strong on Borders, loves our Military and our Vets. Neal has my highest Endorsement!”

Trump has been active endorsing other members of the Florida delegation including backing Republican U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz and Ted Yoho for reelection. The president has also thrown his support to former U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., who is running for governor and to Gov. Rick Scott who is challenging U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.

First elected to Congress in 2016, Dunn, an Army veteran and doctor based out of Panama City, chairs the U.S. House Veterans Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Health. He also sits on the U.S. House Agriculture and Veterans Affairs Committees. In his first term in Congress, Dunn focused on reforming the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and other veterans issues.

Representing a solidly Republican district in North Florida which includes parts of the Big Bend, Dunn isn’t exactly considered a top target for Democrats next month though they have lined up a credible candidate to challenge him. Dunn will face former Leon County Commissioner Bob Rackleff, a Navy veteran who has worked for a speechwriter for a host of Democrats including former President Jimmy Carter, the late U.S. Sen. Ed Muskie, D-Minn. and former U.S. HUD Sec. Julian Castro. Dunn took 67 percent in 2016 while Democrat Walter Darland failed to crack 30 percent against him.
