Tallahassee photographer Colin Hackley has been taking pictures for Sunshine State News almost since our beginning -- whenever we need him, he makes himself available to us.

"I miss news photography," he told me. "I don't have so much time for it anymore, so this works out for both of us."

We're glad for our readers it worked out for him today. As it does every Florida Legislature opening day.

Colin brings more than 25 years' experience as a photojournalist covering the Florida Capitol, Florida and national politics, Florida State University sports and North Florida. He puts it all to work every day for his news, corporate, event and public relations clients.

Have a look at some of his photos from Tuesday's 2017 opening ceremony. We've prepared a page for you, "2017 Session Opener in Photos," to get a better look at Colin's work. Just scroll down.
