Charlie Crist’s chances for a successful political comeback went up on Tuesday as his main rival for the Democratic nomination to replace David Jolly in Congress shifted his focus to running for a state House seat.

Eric Lynn, who worked in the Obama administration at the Defense Department, announced that he was ending his congressional bid to run for the Pinellas County House seat currently held be retiring Democrat Dwight Dudley who is expected to run for a local office. Lynn will take on Eric Diamond for the Democratic nomination.

“Today begins a fresh start in a new race with new opportunities,” Lynn said. “I am proud of the excellent campaign we ran for Congressional District 13 here in Pinellas County, which is projected to elect our first Democratic congressman in over 50 years.  With my decision to run for state House, Charlie Crist and I will forego spending almost a million dollars each against each other in a Democratic primary. I am honored to help ensure that both state House District 68 and Congressional District 13 elect strong Democrats who will fight for the good of the community and the values that we share.”

Crist weighed in on Tuesday after his main opponent for the Democratic nomination bowed out of the race.

"I'm grateful to Eric Lynn for his public service and I'm also proud of my friend Ben Diamond, another great public servant” Crist said. “With today's news, Pinellas County now has two great and qualified candidates in Florida House District 68, and I trust the voters to nominate the candidate that will best fight for fairness, great schools, our environment, and new high-wage jobs. Our party will be unified in November."

Crist faces minor opposition in the Democratic primary. Former Marines General  Mark Bircher and attorney Paul DeCailly are running for the Republican nomination. While the seat had been held by Republicans Bill Young and Jolly for decades, it is now far more favorable to Democrats after the Florida Supreme Court agreed with the state League of Women Voters on congressional redistricting.

Proof positive that Eric Lynn was never a committed candidate in the first place! Personally, I'd look for a more dedicated candidate!

Not Charlie "The Windsock" Crist?

"Charlie the Tuna" Crist (Not this time either Charlie !).... Anyone who would vote for this charlatan needs their voting rights rescinded, because they're too stupid, and have no memory of this scoundrel's past actions (Like giving FIVE MILLION DOLLARS to the "family" of the "Youth Ranch" sickel-cell victim BEFORE an "investigation" even began: and then firing several "Ranch" Officers and a Nurse, as well as a Medical Examiner just so "Charlie The Tuna" could pander to the Black Community like the "two-bit" prostitute he is and 'created' eight of his own "victims" AND their family members in order to "service his Johns" in political fashion !) NO Charlie, you're "toast"! And the Tampa area will suffer for keeping you on their "escort" list ! ! !
