Obamaites Suppress 911 Transcript References to 'Islamic Terrorism' as Too Hot to Handle

June 20, 2016 - 10:45am

Loretta Lynch

Today Big Brother gets that little bit bigger. He gets to shield us from harm, suppress our right to know. Apparently, on the lips of a terrorist, the English language is too politically incorrect for the American people to handle.

So, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch tells us that later today when the FBI releases those edited transcripts of the 911 calls made by the Orlando nightclub shooter to the police, the editing will include certain deletions.

References to Islamic terrorism will be removed.

When asked why, Lynch responded, "to avoid revictimizing."

I Beg to Differ"What we're not going to do is further proclaim this man's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda," Lynch said about the decision to redact."

However, Lynch promised the FBI will release on Monday what they believe to be "the substance of his conversations" in an interview on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday morning.

The substance? Oh, come on.

When CNN's Dana Bash asked Lynch to be a little more specific about the tapes, the attorney general said this:

"You know, as we have said earlier, he talked about his pledges of allegiance to a terrorist group. He talked about his motivations for why he was claiming at that time he was committing this horrific act.

"He talked about American policy in some ways. The reason why we're going to limit these transcripts is to avoid revictimizing those who went through this horror. But it will contain the substance of his conversations. And there were three conversations between this killer and negotiators."

Does anybody else smell a political motive in an election year behind the Obama administration's gag on public records?

By all accounts, the victims of the Pulse nightclub horror are dealing with far worse images than anything killer Omar Mateen could have said on the phone to police. The victims were there. They lived it. They saw it. And they see it over and over again. Phone call transcripts would be child's play.

Taking out references to Islamic terrorism? There is no defensible or legal reason to do this. None whatsoever.

Nor is there an acceptable reason to disregard the First Amendment. The full content of Omar Mateen's  messages belong in the public domain.

Who will challenge this unconscionable interference?

You had better "PREPARE" Folks .... Our Constitutional Republic depends upon YOU !

You are so right, Nancy!

Both the media and GOP, State and Federal, either conveniently forgot the Cheney/Bush directives or deliberately ignore their existence. The Fl. GOP Legislature has toned corruption to such a fine pitch that is mostly unheard except for a few bird-dogging journalists. The public's ears are clogged with ignorance- willful or otherwise-and their political minds dulled by empty rhetoric. This legislature, under the last 2 GOP governors, but especially Herr Scott, has gained the ignoble and shameful title as "most corrupt" in all the nation. Our "representatives" ignore and scoff at the Sunshine Laws at every turn. Since Ms. Smith seems to feel we NEED to know Makeem's ravings in their ideological entirety, I'd ask, "Why?" Is there anything to be gained from posting his allegiance to ISIS? Prurient interest, perhaps? To do so would merely disseminate his words to a wider audience-which surely would include and most likely influence others to emulate his horrific act. Would Ms. Smith and her outraged GOP brethren rather have such words bruited abroad inspiring like-minded acts of evil merely to satisfy curiosity ? Curiosity cloaked in the 'public's right- to -know all.Fertile imaginations can certainly conjure Makeem's intent and probable verbiage. To what purpose??

Thanks scexile. But frankly, I'm not sure this is the right forum in which to appeal to reason.

Sorry scexile but the libtard tactic of redirecting attention off of the criminals CURRENTLY in charge doesn't work anymore. Obamao was raised a muzzie and is protecting them at every turn. THAT is treason and is punishable by death in this country. HELPING a traitor is also punishable by death...

Thanks. I was trying to find a post totally devoid of reason. Yours will do nicely.

Of course Nancy doesn't mention it was Bush that classified it and Cia, State dept, etc was those not wanting it released. So Nancy, other rightwing fools attack the person declassifing it, Obama, as it is always Obama'fault'. Like Blaming Obama for pulling out of Iraq when it was Bush that negotiated it and Iraq said they would prosecute our soldiers under their law. So Obama had no choice. Yet you never mention that or how republicans in just 8 yrs bankrupted the world and nearly us before Obama saved our butts. No wonder the republican party is dying and saddled with a pos like trump, a liberal/conartist that has you all fooled lock, stock and barrel when he found out how easily you are fooled.

NOTHING is Obama's fault. The "fault" all lies with his Father, just because there wasn't a sink handy!

I now see why you post as "Anonymous".

Anon, with such intellegent remarks like that show why you back a big time loser like Trump hecause you can't even tell when you are being lied to you all are so gullible. Repubs have destroyed our economy as 2000-2008, Nebraska and Kansas clearly show how fiscally and morally bankrupt the republican party , economics , other policies is. That Trump won and you post show such stupidity is still in the majority of Republican party. You should be so proud.

That's an intelligent remark. You had to reach this low because you have nothing worth saying but other people rhetoric. If only your father...

You are Sooo smart "doctor"; What, and where, do you "teach"?...I'd like to enroll in your class in order to enhance my piddling education...

Double ditto.

Ditto.

I find it ironic and hypocritical that there is a claim for the right to know (which I happen to agree with) when we have here in the State of Florida the passage of NUMEROUS items and legislation, as well as private emails, for restricting, blocking and covering up citizens' access to information....yes, by our Governor Scott and GOP legislators. This clearly infringes on the Sunshine laws that have been so important to allow the citizens to be informed. Before you throw stones. be careful of your own glass house.

you are correct, RL. The Scott administration has actively worked to hide or otherwise make it hard to find public information that was, before his regime, posted on websites and very easy to access. He now is moving those tactics to the different state agencies and is insisting on obstruction, obstruction, obstruction at any turn for those requesting public records. In fact, I have personally been told, as a public records request responder, that we will NO LONGER "helping" the public find things. The public either needs to know specifically what it is looking for or pay through the nose for unnecessary staff time incurred because Scott will not allow us to help the requester.

Well done. It's unusual to read something even slightly insightful on this site.

You DO know "Silenus" that your namesake was a drunken teacher to the Greek god Dionysus, and as such habitually rode around upon an Ass in order to stave off any drunken falls in the road... (How's THAT for the "insight" you seek ? )

Why yes I did. Did you know that, in Plato's "Symposium", Alcibiades compares Socrates to a statue of Silenus; ugly and hollow on the outside, but inside, full of tiny golden images of the gods.

Bigotry on parade. How sad.

Yet ANOTHER obama coverup. The corruption of this jerk knows no bounds.

If it's a coverup, it's only covering up the incompetence of the Bush administration and the unholy alliances set up by its neocon puppet masters.

This is a bunch of crap (engineered by a White House Administration that needs to be KICKED OUT ASAP) !

STOP your whining. Whoever guaranteed you the unabashed freedom to know every single item going on with regards to terrorism? You would never have lasted in the 40's and 50' with your silly demands and opinions. And you have got to stop with your conspiracy theories as they are truly all wet! A political motive? Really. You, Nancy and your empty headed buds need to know that nothing is guaranteed and not everything is covered by the Constitution! Simply put, get over it!

"Mark",..You are way "off base"! Your Constitutional freedoms are consistently being diminished, and you don't even seem to be aware of it happening....

C Breeze, I partially agree with you but the constitution does NOT guarantee ANY rights to information held by the government. If that were true, imagine what the results could have been if the government 'had' to share information? I, personally, don't care for government, particularly in this state but, at times, information can be too sensitive to release. GO TRUMP!!

Yes in the new last night again the rightvwing of the court made it moe of a police state by allowing police to illegally stop you but still use what they discover. This only encourages police breaking the law against YOU again and again. Along with their other similar ruling it is them taking our rights away. Again you are gullible fools taken in by immoral people because you let them control you. What an idoit you are cb

You are right c breeze except it is repubs and the roberts surpreme court taking your rights away. And why are you named after a wise azz black kid in the comics?

...becauze...

Cb, see my post 2 above shows exactly why you are a gullible fool. You vote for those who take your money, taxes, rights and gives them to police, corporations you idiots. And now voting for the head idiot master, trump. And so deluded you think he is for you .
