Florida Divided Over Transgenders and Bathrooms

A new poll shows Florida is divided on which bathrooms transgenders should use but against the idea of forcing public schools to allow transgendered students to use the bathrooms of the gender they identify with. 

"The issue of transgender people and the use of public bathrooms finds voters split on exactly what should be done," said Peter Brown, the assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, on Thursday. 

Zika Remains a Major Concern for Florida Voters

Floridians are concerned about the Zika virus, a new poll shows. 

Quinnipiac University released a poll on Thursday morning which finds 22 percent of voters in the Sunshine State are very concerned about Zika while 40 percent are somewhat concerned about it. While 22 percent say they’re not so concerned about it, 15 percent say they aren’t concerned about Zika at all.

Rick Scott gets solid marks in a new poll after another survey released this week found him upside down. 

Morning Consult released its Governor Approval Rankings and it showed the Florida governor moving up in the polls with 49 percent of Florida voters approving of him and 41 percent disapproving of him. Back in November, a Morning Consult poll had Scott upside down with 47 percent of those surveyed disapproving of him while 44 percent approved of him.

Quinnipiac University released a poll on Tuesday which shows a large segment of voters--more than 20 percent--remain undecided in the Senate race. Many voters are in the dark on the major contenders in the Senate race.

“The Florida U.S. Senate race is wide open with none of the seven candidates particularly well-known to voters,” said Peter Brown, the assistant director of the Quinnipiac University poll.

Morning Consult released its “Senator Approval Rankings” on Thursday and found the two senators from Florida are headed in different directions. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio’s presidential bid has hurt his standing in the Sunshine State the new poll shows. Rubio is one of only six senators across the nation with disapproval higher than 40 percent. The poll shows 45 percent of Florida voters approve Rubio while 41 percent disapprove of him.
