AFP Thanks Matt Gaetz for Standing Against Higher Federal Spending

Americans for Prosperity’s (AFP) Florida chapter is feeling thankful for U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz’s, R-Fla., efforts to rein in federal spending and is letting Panhandle residents know of their gratitude.

On Monday, AFP’s Florida chapter announced it was sending out a Thanksgiving themed piece in the mail urging voters to thank Gaetz for “standing up for our families and communities” by standing against “out-of-control spending.” Gaetz, who is wrapping up his freshman term, was easily reelected earlier this month.

Across the state and the nation, AFP is running similar efforts for lawmakers  “who’ve championed reining-in government spending, criminal justice reform and free trade policies.” The LIBRE Initiative, a partner group of AFP that also supports free market solutions, is running a similar effort thanking lawmakers who are trying to find solutions on immigration.

Chris Hudson, AFP’s state director in Florida, weighed in on the efforts on Monday.

“As Floridians gather to give thanks over the holidays, we want to take the opportunity to encourage lawmakers to join together and tackle our country’s toughest challenges,” Hudson said. “Before we celebrate the opportunities coming in the new year, there is critical work to be done in Washington – work that requires bipartisanship and principled leadership. Now is the time for Washington to rein in out-of-control spending, eliminate tariffs, and find a permanent solution for DREAMERS. We think hearing from their constituents will embolden these lawmakers to get bold solutions over the finish line before the year ends.”

Across the nation, AFP is calling on voters to thank both Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill on trade, immigration and holding the line on spending including Republican U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Ben Sasse of Nebraks and Rand Paul of Kentucky and Democrat U.S. Sens. Maria Cantwell of Washington and Doug Jones of Alabama. Gaetz is the only lawmaker from the  Sunshine State included in AFP’s campaign.

Only Republicans see their tax “cuts” (aid to dependent businesses) as a positive. The rest of us know the truth. This election is the harbinger of future ones unless you get the picture fast.

I certainly hope that the free-spending Democrats and Leftists cancel their subscriptions to SSN. They seem to have "spend, Spend, SPEND" on their pea=brain minds. Yes - they really ARE stupid enough to believe that more free stuff will benefit Florida... and AMERICA!

Matt Gaetz=rabid dog.

Gaetz is a wingier and nutier wingnut than even DeSantis!

WOW Matt, you sure have the outspoken and mal-educated "illiterati" mumbling to themselves in consternation and confusion;... Keep up your good work Matt !!!

Gaetz is the nuttiest of the Trumpnuts. (And, of course, DeSantis appointed him to his 'transition team'.)

Ditto, Lee, above. Gaetz actively participated in this setup legislation.

His support of tax reform undermines this award.
