I Will Not Vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton

May 6, 2016 - 8:15pm

I congratulate Donald Trump on securing his place as the Republican party’s presumptive nominee. There is no doubt that he successfully tapped into the deep sense of anger and frustration so many Americans around the country rightfully feel today.

The tremendous anger of the current U.S. electorate – whether Republican, Democrat or independent – is a result of people fearful about the future, concerned with the direction of our country and tremendously frustrated by the abject failure and inability of leaders in Washington, D.C. to make anything better.
American voters have made it clear that Washington is broken, but I’m not optimistic that either of the leading candidates for president will put us on a better course.

The American presidency is an office that goes beyond just politics. It requires of its occupant great fortitude and humility and the temperament and strong character to deal with the unexpected challenges that will inevitably impact our nation in the next four years.

Donald Trump has not demonstrated that temperament or strength of character. He has not displayed a respect for the Constitution. And, he is not a consistent conservative. These are all reasons why I cannot support his candidacy.

Hillary Clinton has proven to be an untrustworthy liberal politician who, if elected, would present a third term of the disastrous foreign and economic policy agenda of Barack Obama.

In November, I will not vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, but I will support principled conservatives at the state and federal levels, just as I have done my entire life. For Republicans, there is no greater priority than ensuring we keep control of both chambers of Congress. I look forward to working hard for great conservatives in the Senate and House in the coming months.

Former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla., son of former President George H.W. Bush and brother of former President George W. Bush, was one of the 16 candidates for the Republican presidential nomination who dropped out of the race.

The old republican party is as much to blame for the way the U.S. is today. Look at our southern border, national debt, House and Senate and we the people told them we put them in office to stop Obama and they did not do this! Don't comeback using the stopping our Supreme Court Justice nomination, little too late and we see it's McConnell only holding up the works and I do like that but they haven't stopped Obama. That's why we are lucky to have Mr. Trump and that's 100% correct. The Bushs and all the others need to support Mr. Trump and help him any way they can, he has never run nor been in any government position before and he will be our next President of the United States.

JEB, helped rig George's election by moving poling places which got us Dick Chaney who got us a war in Iraq that will go on forever and a destroyed economy while Daddy,,,,was quietly making hundreds of millions on the Saudis who supported Bin Laden

Something tells me what you really want along with the rest of you're family along with Romney, Ryan, Beck and all the others not backing Trump is; you will not support or vote for Mr. Trump unless he comes crawling on his knees and begs for you to be his running mate of course under CNN's camera's. I can see you know laughing saying no way.... But you would accept only for the good for the Country comeback. Then all the destroyers would unite behind President Bush, I mean Trump, but for how long before you call that guy hiding in the grassy knoll. We supported and backed you're Father and Brother while they campaigned and while they were President. After reading how they are not supporting Mr. Trump potential republican nominee, We wish we would have turned our backs on them...... The way we would if you force Mr. Trump to put you jeb bush on his ticket to run with him.

Nobody cares!!! We expect you to join the democrats. All the RINOS are showing their face.

While I have no admiration for Jeb either as a person or as a politician, I must admit that these comments pretty accurately reflect my take on the leading incompetents desiring to be the next U.S. President.

I think most of these "commentators" need to look up the meaning of "honor".

Yes, you should Bob!

JEB didn't just "drop out"...he was soundly beaten because he "DOESN'T HAVE THE GOODS" to be America's President !... What a "sore loser"!

JEB didn't just "drop out"...he was soundly beaten because he "DOESN'T HAVE THE GOODS" to be America's President !... What a "sore loser"!

Jeb just proved that his word is no good . . .he has no word of honor.

Heck, he has NO HONOR! Glad Jeb's out, ways out. Just wish he'd move to Texas!

Dear mindless zombies, "there is no shame in putting Country ahead of party." Advice give to VP Al Gore by Warren Christopher when he advised him to concede to George W. Bush in 2000. It's not about the Republican Party whose brand is "poison Kool-aid," it's about the soul of America. Trump is bad for America. Not just the left, right and center. He's horrible on a world stage.

@Florida GUrl, I can understand your concerns, and agree with some, BUT, allowing Hillary to walk into office is also a mistake. Knowing ahead of time that she appears to be corrupt concerns me. Frankly, both candidates concern me but it's the duty of the GOP to support the candidate who the people have selected. The path is clear, I hope. Enjoy the weekend! GO TRUMP!

Dear Florida Gurl, who cannot spell Girl . . . There is no honor in putting Hillary in the White House, just because you did not get the candidate you wanted. We are supposed to be serving the will of the people, and that is Trump. I would not call people mindless zombies, when you cannot even spell Girl. If you really believe that Hillary is better than Trump, then you have not been paying attention. . . .. which is why this country is in a mess and needs Trump in the White House.

I support your decision. DT has reversed his positions on almost everything. He is certainly not conservative or liberty-loving. He and Hillary will not get my vote either.

And it is people like you and Jeb Bush who don't deserve to live in the United States of America. You need to go where you can't vote, and then you won't have to worry about it. Mr. Bush needs to move to Mexico or one of the other South American countries where can be with people he truly loves.

"People like you"... Say no more, you ARE a Trump supporter for sure. Your way or the highway, I do plan on voting as I have for the past 55 years, just not for the candidate you want me to vote for. ... so bring on more insults, ShariLee.

Oh Sue, 'your' candidate isn't running this year. In fact, I'm told Calvin Coolidge is NOT interested any longer!

So basically, your word is no good. No matter what reason you give, the truth is that you are just a very poor loser, Trump did not say anything to you that was worse than what you said to him. You are like little boy crying . . if you don't do like I say, I will take my ball and go home. You are like the little pig crying . . . , "wah, wah, wah, all the way home". What immaturity. What lack of loyalty to the party . . which desperately needs to win in Nov. You have lost my respect. . . .. .and the respect of millions of Republicans. Go Trump!!

I was an ardent supporter of George W. But I have lost respect for ALL the Bushes who refuse to vote for Trump. Why do I get the feeling that you all WILL vote in NOV., but that you will vote for Hillary. The press kept making a big deal out of Trump's past friendship with Hillary. . . . all the time ignoring the Bush family's friendship with Bill. You even call him your "other brother". Sniff, sniff, . . .I smell something, . . .it is a bunch of Bushes in the Clinton camp. I have lost all faith in the Bush family . . . . .in cluding pro-choice, and pro-gay marriage, Laura Bush. Go Trump!!! Go Trump!!

The entire Bush family is made up of nothing but hypocrites, which is a strong reason for Jeb's sound defeat by the voters in the primary elections. Only in Florida were voters duped by him and his family. Jeb's defeat means no more 'tax free shopping' for his wife, and hopefully it marks the end of their occupation in public housing! GO TRUMP!

Jeb, you took a pledge to support the nominee .

Where is the "honor" of your pledge Jeb

Where is the "honor" of your pledge Jeb

Yes, Jeb. Where is the honor of your pledge? And where is that great man we used to call Governor Bush? I used to marvel at how caring you were and what a great job you did for Florida. Now look at you ... how the mighty have fallen. You and the whole Bush family are not the Americans we all thought you were.

Sadly, I'll admit that I never called him Governor. His empty promises, his involvement in the financial institutional investigation (which Daddy took care of), and his fake sense of being a 'proud' Floridian was a turnoff. Now, looking back at how the small things he screwed up on, his wife's tax free shopping sprees, his screwing up Florida's educational system are just a couple hints of Jeb's lack of caring for the rules and people! Who needs him! GO TRUMP!
