Will Weatherford Endorses Danny Burgess

Monday was a day of endorsements for House Speaker Will Weatherford, who added Danny Burgess's name to the list of House candidates he's supporting in 2014.

Burgess, who currently serves as mayor of Zephyrhills, will be running to represent Florida's 38th District, which covers Pasco County. The seat will be vacated by Weatherford, who faces term limits.

"Danny is a lifelong resident of District 38 and has a keen understanding of the needs of our community through his service in local government," said Weatherford. "As a husband and new father,Danny also knows that decisions made in Tallahassee directly affect theabilityof moms and dads throughout Florida to raisetheir families, educate their children, and put food on the table. Dannypossessesthe courage of his conservative convictions coupled with atemperament that enables him to work and find common ground."

Weatherford urged others to join him in support of Burgess, who qualified for the ballot by petition on Monday.
