University of Florida Offers Social Media Degree

University of Florida will be offering a degree in Social Media. The Masters Degree will be offered through the UF College of Journalism and Communications, and would be the first degree of its kind.

UF's listing explains, "Social media tools are redefining the ways we communicate, do business, receive news, find information, go shopping, and access entertainment. Learn to leverage the power of these evolving mediums with this first of its kind degree focused on the future of connectivity."

The advanced degree is one "that examines the impact of social media and explains how it can be used to influence the future of communication, marketing, journalism, politics, entertainment, public relations, and more," according to the university.

The entire program would take students 18 months to complete and would be 100 percent online, according to the listing.
