Terry McAuliffe Blowing Away Ken Cuccinelli in Rasmussen Poll
Rasmussen Reports released a poll on Tuesday which shows Terry McAuliffe, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), holds a commanding lead over Republican rival state Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli in the Virginia gubernatorial race.
After the federal shutdown and a high-profile campaign appearance with former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a close ally, McAuliffe has pulled away, taking 50 percent of likely voters while Cuccinelli only garners the support of 33 percent. Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis continues to do well for a third-party candidate, taking 8 percent in the poll, while other candidates get the backing of 3 percent and 5 percent are undecided.
The poll of 1,000 likely voters in Virginia was taken on Oct. 20 and had a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.
