RPOF Chair Blaise Ingoglia Praises Trump's Nomination of Neil Gorsuch to Supreme Court
Republican Party of Florida chair Blaise Ingoglia praised President Donald Trump's nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday.
If confirmed, Gorsuch will fill the vacancy left by Antonin Scalia, who died last February.
"The President’s campaign movement was largely motivated by 'draining the swamp' and by the opportunity of appointing a Supreme Court Justice," said Ingoglia. "Today, our Commander in Chief delivered on his promise of a Justice in the mold of the late Antonin Scalia. We believe Neil Gorsuch will be an ardent defender of conservatism, and champion the true original intent of our nation’s most sacred document, the Constitution of the United States."
Ingoglia urged the U.S. Senate to quickly confirm Gorsuch for the job, sending out a special message to Florida's own U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson to give Gorsuch the stamp of approval.
“The American people have spoken and the 2016 election cycle was a mandate on the Supreme Court," Ingoglia said. "I strongly urge Senator Bill Nelson to reject the shenanigans of Chuck Schumer and respect the will of the people, swiftly confirming Neil Gorsuch as United States Supreme Court Justice."
