RPOF Chair Blaise Ingoglia Praises Scott for Appointing Special Prosecutor in Cop Killing Case

Blaise IngogliaRepublican Party of Florida chairman Blaise Ingoglia had high praise for Gov. Rick Scott's decision to appoint a special prosecutor to take over in the Markeith Loyd case.

On Thursday, Scott announced he would appoint State Attorney Brad King to take over on the case after State Attorney Ayala refused to seek the death penalty for Loyd. Loyd is accused of killing a police officer and his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

“It is disheartening to know State Attorney Ayala took an oath to fight for justice and enforce the Constitution, but instead is neglecting her duty to aggressively prosecute a cop killer to the fullest extent of the law," said Ingoglia. "Governor Scott’s decision to appoint State Attorney Brad King ensures a topnotch attorney will look at this case with a fresh set of eyes and seek justice for the victims."
