RealClearPolitics: Obama Will Win Re-Election
As we approach Election Day, just where do the final poll averages show the candidates standing?
RealClearPolitics, which calculates its averages by taking into account polls conducted by the most reputable firms -- including those conducted by Sunshine State News -- shows President Obama winning the Electoral College vote, and therefore re-election: 303 votes, to Romney's 235.
The same averages show Romney carrying Florida, 49.7 percent to 48.2 percent, and the Democrats maintaining control of the Senate, 53 seats to 47.
But all is not lost for Republicans. Aside from the fact that they are almost assured to keep the House of Representatives, several of the polls showing Obama wins in the swing states are well within the statistical margin of error.
And of course, the only real poll that counts is the final vote tally.
