Phyllis Schlafly Backs Jeff Kottkamp for GOP AG Nomination

Nationally prominent conservative leader Phyllis Schlafly, founder of the Eagle Forum, backed Lt. Gov. Jeff Kottkamp for attorney general on Thursday. Kottkamp is running in a tight Republican primary against former Assistant State Attorney Pam Bondi and former Agency for Health Care Administration Secretary Holly Benson.

"Jeff is exactly the kind of leader we need in state government," said Schlafly. "He has a proven record as a public official who stands foreffective fiscal and social conservative principles. The November election may be the most important election of our times. Our country is at a crossroads and I believe we must elect conservatives who will guide us in the right direction. Floridians have a great opportunity to do that by voting for Jeff Kottkamp and electing him as Florida's next attorney general.

I am humbled and very thankful to receive the endorsement of the Eagle Forum and Phyllis Schlafly, the matriarch of the modern-day conservative movement in our country, said Kottkamp. Its easy to call yourself a conservative, but my pro-family, pro-life and pro-Second Amendment record speaks for itself. Mrs. Schlaflys endorsement verifies my conservative credentials and I greatly appreciate her support.
