Mike Lee Backs Connie Mack to Challenge Bill Nelson
On Monday, Utah Republican U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, a darling of the tea party movement for defeating longtime incumbent Bob Bennett back in 2010, announced that he was backing U.S. Rep. Connie Mack for the Republican nomination to challenge Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson.
Connie Macks fight to protect our constitutional freedoms and cut the size and scope of the federal government has been a hallmark of his service to the people of Florida, Lee said.Having Connies voice in the U.S. Senate will greatly enhance our ability to not only stop Harry Reid and Bill Nelsons liberal agenda, but to return our nation to a path of constitutionally limited government, more individual liberty, and greater prosperity."
There is a growing movement in the U.S. Senate to protect the Constitution and the fiscal integrity of the United States, Mack said. Senator Lees leadership in that fight is one I admire deeply, and I am honored to have his endorsement. I look forward to the opportunity to stand with Senator Lee and other like-minded conservatives in our fight for freedom and prosperity in the United States Senate.
