Marco Rubio, Big James Madison Institute Fan, Surprise-Visits Orlando Policy Summit

In town for an editorial board interview, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio stopped by the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort Orlando Friday to check in at the James Madison Institute Policy Summit.

"Yes, you at James Madison do carry the message the world is waiting for," Rubio said to a delighted crowd. "That's why I love this organization. Liberty, freedom, individual rights, economic prosperity -- these are the principles that built this great nation and the ones that give us hope every day."

The Senate candidate, with a 5-point lead over Democrat Patrick Murphy and an 11-point lead over Democrat Alan Grayson in last week's Monmouth poll, said it doesn't matter what the numbers say, "I just get up every morning, get out there and talk to as many Floridians as I can. This is the most important election probably in our lifetime. I want to make sure voters are listening to the truth."
