Manny Diaz Raises $27,000 During First Week of March

2018 may be a year away, but Rep. Manny Diaz Jr., R-Hialeah, is still reeling in the dough for his Senate campaign.

On Tuesday, Diaz's campaign announced it had raised $27,000 during the first few days in March leading up to the legislative session. Diaz is running for SD 36, which is currently represented by Sen. Rene Garcia and covers parts of Miami-Dade County.

Diaz, who is serving his third term in the House of Representatives, has raised over $105,000 for his Senate campaign so far.

The Hialeah Republican has made his mark in the House as an advocate for education.

“We are off to a strong start this year, and I am very grateful for those who are investing in our platform of education reform and a stronger economy,” Diaz said. “I look forward to continuing to work hard in the House this session for needed job growth and to make sure Florida provides our young people with the best education options possible.”
