Jacksonville Councilman Daniel Davis Picked to Take Carroll's House Seat

A panel of Republicans on the state committee from Clay and Duval counties has named Jacksonville City Councilman Daniel Davis as candidate for the seat currently held by Rep. Jennifer Carroll, R-Jacksonville, who was picked by Rick Scott as his running mate for lieutenant governor. As no other candidates besides Carroll made the ballot, Davis, as her replacement, is assured of victory in November.

I am honored to congratulate Daniel Davis on his nomination to serve as the Republican nominee for District 13 in the Florida House, said Sen. John Thrasher of Jacksonville, the chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. I am confident that Northeast Florida will have a strong delegation to the Florida Legislature this year coupled with conservative partners in the governors office with Rick Scott and Jennifer Carroll serving as governor and lieutenant governor.

We congratulate Daniel Davis on his selection as the Republican nominee in House District 13 and look forward to working with him, said incoming House Speaker Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park. Daniel has been serving the community for years on the city council, and Im confident hell continue to represent the people of Northeast Florida well in the Florida House.
