George LeMieux Blasts Connie Mack's Lost Week in House
Rep. Connie Mack's voting record is becoming a campaign issue in the U.S. Senate primary campaign -- not necessarily for his votes, but for his lack of them.
This week, the Naples Republican was quoted as saying, Id like every member of Congress to be up in Washington thinking about what bills we could repeal that will shrink the size of government ... instead of going to Washington with the next idea of how to grow government.
But a review of last week's House action showed that Mack was not present for votes on the Paul Ryan budget, the bipartisan JOBS Act, the highway reauthorization bill or 22 other measures.
One of Mack's opponents, George LeMieux, seized on the absences.
"Connie Mack the Fourth is not doing his job and consistently missing critical votes," said LeMieux spokeswoman Anna Nix.
"Our state and country are facing hard times and we need serious problem solvers like George LeMieux in Washington, not Charlie Sheen-esque politicians."
