Florida Democrats Attack Allen West's Lawsuit for Recount

Hours before a court hearing on the request by attorneys for U.S. Rep. Allen Wests campaign to recount all ballots cast prior to Election Day in the narrow Congressional District 18 contest, the Florida Democratic Party is questioning the Republicans legal claims.

As West's legal team heads into court today for a last ditch effort to challenge the twice certified results in Florida's 18th Congressional District -- results which have been counted, recounted and still remain outside the margin of a recount -- it's worth remembering West's beliefs have never been guided by reality, the FDP stated on its Website.

With a 0.58 percent margin of difference between West and Democrat Patrick Murphy, and an inspection team from the secretary of state's office currently reviewing problems that occurred with election tabulating machines in St. Lucie County and other actions in the county supervisor of elections office, arguments for all the absentee and early voting ballots to refeed through the tabulating machines go before St. Lucie County Circuit Judge Dan Vaughn at 1 p.m. in Fort Pierce.
