
Florida Chamber of Commerce Marks 100 Years of Leading the Business Community
The Florida Chamber of Commerce marked is centennial this week with its Board of Governors Capitol Days in Tallahassee.
“One hundred years ago, the biggest threat facing Florida’s economy was a parasite — the cattle tick,” said Mark Wilson, the president and CEO of the Florida Chamber, on Thursday. “While the threats to Florida’s economy have changed, the Florida Chamber’s mission to secure our state’s future, create jobs and create economic opportunities remain the same.”
The Florida Chamber held a series of speakers including state Cabinet officials Attorney General Pam Bondi, CFO Jeff Atwater and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and former legislative leaders such as former Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings, current FSU President John Thrasher and former state House Speaker Will Weatherford.
