Dr. Ed Moore: Floridians Finally Got to See Who Alex Sink and Rick Scott Are

Dr. Ed Moore, a prominent observer of the Florida political scene, called Wednesday night's gubernatorial debate between Alex Sink and Rick Scott "a bare-knuckled exchange, a real contrast in style, personality and experience."

Said Moore, "This was a great opportunity for people to be introduced to these candidates. So far, what most Floridians have seen is each one portrayed in an attack ad. Finally we got to see them as they are, two very different people, one emphasizing her long-term experience as a Floridian and public servant, and the other one as a businessman with the ability to create and build companies and jobs."

Moore said the gubernatorial debate was streets ahead of Tuesday night's U.S. Senate "match" between Charlie Crist, Kendrick Meek and Marco Rubio. "The Senate candidates were polished and professional, all politicians used to public speaking. With such a crowded stage, there wasn't as much time for rebuttal or explanation as there was tonight (Wednesday night)."

Moore, who lives in Tallahassee but was in the audience at Nova Southeastern University in Davie to observe the debate, is the president and CEO of Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida.
