David Jolly's Team Claims Momentum in GOP Primary to Replace Marco Rubio
U.S. Rep. David Jolly’s, R-Fla., team is happy that Public Policy Polling (PPP) released a survey earlier this week showing their candidate ahead in the Republican primary to replace U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in 2016.
Jolly led the poll with 18 percent followed by U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., with 15 percent and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera at 14 percent.
Max Goodman, Jolly’s political director, sent a memo to his finance team on the matter on Thursday.
“We’re leading the pack,” Goodman noted. “A recently released PPP poll puts David number one, ahead of all Republican challengers for Florida's open U.S. Senate seat. It’s clear that David’s conservative results-driven message is resonating with folks who are sick and tired of the go-along, get-along Washington crowd.
“But make no mistake – we need to keep the pressure on,” Goodman added. “We’ve already seen the DC special interest groups attack David’s credentials even though he is the only Republican Senate candidate to vote against $400 billion in new debt, vote against Obamatrade, and vote against the establishment’s status-quo budget. Why? Because David’s vote needs to be earned. It’s not for sale.
“Let’s continue to show Florida and the rest of the nation that when you put conservatism to work it works for everyone,” Goodman wrote in closing.
