CPAC Lands in Middle of RPOF's Presidency 5 Summit This Fall

The itinerary during the Republicans' Presidency 5 summit in Orlando this fall is filling out.

The American Conservative Union announced Wednesday that its first regional Conservative Political Action Conference will be held on Sept. 23.

ACU will host the event a day after a Fox News presidential debate. The P5 presidential straw poll is scheduled for the summit's concluding day, Saturday, Sept. 24.

So far, GOP presidential hopefuls Jon Huntsman and Herman Cain have confirmed their attendance at P5, and Republican Party of Florida spokesman Trey Stapleton said "we anticipate a confirmation from Ron Paul to be forthcoming." Mitt Romney has said he will skip all straw polls, including Florida's.

ACU, headed by former RPOF Chairman Al Cardenas, said it has invited the announced presidential candidates to participate at CPAC, along with Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Allen West.

In a statement, Cardenas said:

"ACU is heading to the front lines and taking the conservative fight directly to the states. We look forward to hosting CPAC FL in the Sunshine State this fall, expanding the CPAC brand and further energizing the national conservative movement as we head into the critical 2012 election season.

Though CPAC is scheduled in the middle of the three-day P5 summit, ACU spokeswoman Kristy Campbell stressed that the events are separate.
