Black Community Goes to Bat for David Jolly in New Ad
David Jolly is taking a more personal route in his latest ad for his re-election campaign in Florida's 13th Congressional District.
The ad, shared exclusively with Sunshine State News, features local radio personality and St. Petersburg community staple, Sister Dianne Hughes.
In the ad, Hughes praises Jolly for his commitment to the community and to issues facing Pinellas County.
"This community means everything to me," Hughes says. "Thats why I support David Jolly."
Hughes says Jolly will fight for jobs, schools and criminal justice reform in Pinellas County.
The ad is part of the campaign's latest push to reach out to black voters in Pinellas County. Polls have shown a tight race between Jolly and his Democratic challenger, former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist in recent weeks. Jolly has centered in on mobilizing the black community in his latest series of ads, which are being broadcast on local cable stations.
