3 South Florida Democrats Announce Big Win for Everglades Restoration

U.S. Reps, Lois Frankel, Ted Deutch and and Patrick Murphy, all South Florida Democrats -- this morning celebrated the federal authorization of the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP), with a press conference in West Palm Beach.

CEPP was authorized for federal funding in the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act of 2016, which recently passed in Congress and was signed into law by President Obama on Friday.

It is the $2 billion series of engineering projects intended to restore the Everglades’ natural flow, preserve the unique habitats and native wildlife, and protect the water supply on which more than seven million Floridians and visitors rely.
